I don't know if any of you know but whilst Marshelling at our wing ding last week i had the honour of recieving 3 points and a £60 fine for stopping on the hard shoulder 100 yards before a jonction that every one had to take.....Anyway the question is this..."will these 3 points make any difference to my insurance premium"  I have held my licence for 38 years and these are my first points.

Doubtful they will make any odds, most companies let you have one offence.

I think you will find under the terms of your insurance agreement you will need to inform them of the points straight away. I very much doubt this will alter your premium until your renewal comes in then it will very much depend on your insurer if its a big online type company then yes your premium is very likely to rise, however if a smaller company is used then a explanation of the cause of the points may be enough to keep any rise as small as possible.

My wife had 3 point for speeding last year when it came to renew the policy went up by £100 and that was the cheapest i could get.
But i'm not sure about parking or stopping on hard shoulder

Well whether it rises or not, that sounds like a case of "easy pickings" to get done for such a thing.

I tend to agree, maybe warning would have been the correct action given your driving history but as Pete says easy pickings

dont think you will have a problem with your points, most insurance companies now expect motorist to pick pu point with the advent of speed cameras etc
