I asked PinkPork to be the ride captain for the Meet N Greet, and Graham readily accepted, he has now past to me the information on the rides he has got orgainised and they look right crackers.

As in previous years these rides are not compulsory and if you want to do your own thing than that's fine. I'll be tagging along with Graham,

Saturday the 1st, a 95 mile ish round trip,

Out through the Forrest of Bowland, { an area of outstanding beauty in the heart of the Ribble Vally},,and up to the west coast.
There we'll stop for an hour for a break and a look around, take in a pie and a cup of tea, and the toilets,,,
Setting off again we'll take a short ride along the coast, then we'll head inland towards Kirkby lonsdale and back down riding through the Lancashire and Yorkshire Dale Borders
If we set off from camp at 10-30 ish its about 1hr 40mins to the coast,,then an hours stop, and the same again riding home 1hr 40 mins,,,,,

RIDE 2,,

Sunday the 2nd, a ride out over the Yorkshire Dales and Moors a round trip of 80mls ish.
Setting off about 11-00 ish up the A59 we'll head out towards the Dales. Riding over The Blubber Houses ,,[Yorkshire moorland},,and up over the Dales. We'll take a left before Harragate, passing Riply Castle ,
and over some great roads taking in some outstanding scenery , down to Pateley Bridge, Grassington, and a call into Skipton,,before heading back to camp ,,

For those wanting to do there own thing,,, Blackpool and The west coast can be reached in 40 mins useing the M-ways

The English Lake District is about 1hr 30mins away ,,depending on how you ride,,

And if you want a great days riding ,,heres a favorite ride of mine,,take the A59 towards Gisburn, turn left at the round about, towards Settle on the A65 ride right up through Kirkby Lonsdale to junction36 of the M6,,have a quick sprint up the motorway to junction 40 ,just before Penrith,, come off and take the A66 for a short time, and then left onto the A592 Ullswater,,this road will take you right along the shores of the lake,,and trough some outstanding villages,,before it takes you over the KIRKSTONE PASS,,and brings you down into Windermere,,ride the A592 along the lake,,then its up to you wether you clatter it back down the M6 or back down the A65,,,,this ride is about 180mls and is a real gem,,

Heres a tip for some of you,,if your leaving the M6 and riding towards Clitheroe on the A59,there are a few turns that say Clitheroe,, youll be wanting CLITHEROE NORTH, the camps well sign posted from there,,, hope this all helps,,look forward to seeing you ,,all the very best Graham.

At this time I wish to point one thing out.

You will be riding at all times in your comfort zone, and as an individual, if you are NOT in your comfort zone, then stop, do not do anything you are not happy with.

also for of those not wanting to join the ride out on sunday, there clitheroe market, gisburn market and skipton market, if you want to go the a bike meet, devils bridge or rivvington barn which are not to far away, they will both be packed if the weather is good, rivvington barn has a big cafe and serves good meals and beer if you want too, devils bridge has a snack van and you have to queue up for ages to get served, plus its not far from crezz's neck of the woods

Fiona and I are both looking forward to the trip and the rideouts. Didn't make the one last years I was playing golf in Pitlochry with Sean.

Can't wait...how many sleeps???

Both rides sound great. Hope there's photo opportunities?
