The one without sound... :rolf

It will almost certainly be drivers Ed, do a windows update and that will probably cure it.

Eddie,

I was going to suggest going to the related PC website and find the most recent sound drivers and download them to see if that helps other then that check all places for the sound being disabled, it may be someplace else and not located in the normal location.

That was quick Eddie, before I could even respond with my advice, you appear to have cured the problem.:coo:

All I can say is, you must be a mind reader, to have realised that I was going to go and get you a sound card to cure your woes. :th

there's a pc shop half a mile from me pete, so i nipped down and bought a creative soundblaster live digital card, my pc has the sound card built onto the board and it my have been turned off, then he started telling me how to turn i back on going into the bios, as soon as he said that, my brain went into meltdown. i'm glad i got this board now, its brought the surround sound to life, know anyone who wants to buy a stereo

sometimes for some reason, computers start to act funny, no one knows why, it may be a update or you may have loaded a program recently or done nothing, if your computer starts to act weird, in future my advice would be to do a system restore, normally windows does check points, by doing a system restore it will guide you through how to restore your computer back to one of these system restore points, once done it will reboot the computer, if after this it does not work chances are something has gone adrift. Not all computers have all the sound devices, on the laptop i use some of the options are greyed out, slim down sort of version. sound card as you say eddie will give you a better sound anyway, glad you got sorted mate
