Free accommodation is available here for the Friday night we are less than 10 miles from Snowdon, its not five star but it does offer a warm welcome, warm bed and plenty of good home cooked food.

How many beds do we need to prepare?

There will be 7 of us in the party all together. 6 males and 1 female. We are doing our best not to have any extra passengers as the extra weight will slow us down on the driving part. Thanks for the offer David. I'll put it to the guys next week as I'm away to Peterhead tomorrow on a training course. Wont see them till then.

There are 4 guys doing the challenge, with myself and anohter guy as drivers and support and the mother hen as the organisor. No it's not Fiona it's a civvy worker from the prison.

Everything is so far going according to plan and is set for us to travel down to Wales on the 23rd July.

The guys that are doing the challenge are now in full training mode although 1 of them still hasn't seen a mountain yet. Is he in for a big surprise.....We're trying to egg him on to start asap or he is going to struggle.

The fundraising is going quite well, if a little slow as yet but we have a few local events planned that will hopefully set us well on our way. Got around 50 letters to type and post by Monday seeking sponsorship or donations so guess what I'll be doing all weekend....bummer but someone has to do it.

I'll keep you all posted nearer the time re progress etc.

First day fundraising at the local shopping centre and looks like we raised around £600. That takes the total so far to just over £2k with hopefully loads more to go.

All donations greatfully received.

This is getting close now, I must admit the weather needs to brighten up, Snowdon would not be nice today, lashing it down and visibility is very poor.

The guys are well prepared. We had one call off from the event due to health but another has kindly offered up as a stand in. So the team still consists of 4 doing the actual hills with 2 drivers and mother hen as organisor.

Final meeting is on Tuesday and we depart on Friday morning. One of the guys is coming straight off the night shift into the van so hopefully he can get some kip on the way down.

The guys are well fired up to undertake this challenge and the fact we have raised around £4k is an inspiration to them. Hopefully we can still raise a bit more as we have a bucket collection at our premiere league local football club Inverness Caledonian Thistle and a raffle or 2 to do yet as well.

Fingers crossed everything goes off ok and thanks again to David for the overnight accommodation. Appreciate it. Now all I have to do is find his place..........Pete, can you give me directions m8????

Thanks Lesley. All home safe and sound now. Knackered but safe and sound.

Thanks again doll for all you an David have done to help us. It's appreciated.

The craik was good and the beers were cold. What more can a guy ask for.

It was good meeting up with you both again and like i said, if you are ever wanting to come up to the "real" north, you are more than welcome.

Cheers
Gordie
