Wasn't by any chance a bloke called Jean Paul, told you that was it? As in Jean Paul Getty!!! :do:

Liking the 2 week idea myself too, but will have to consult the "Oracle" on that, she may have other ideas. :twitch:

L'hotel Silverfox, can accommodate about 3 couples in relative comfort in doors and anything up to about 6 couples who wish to do "le camping"

No hitting the house please, plenty of parking available without coming inside with the bikes:cool:. There is a goodly amount of space on the driveway, ( once the skips and project cars have been moved!!) but the chances of getting a 5th bike in the garage is slim. :do:

thing is even if you did the 3 day option once getting there, you are still looking at 9 days, so may as well go for the fortnight

Quite agree Derek and really the main point of having the Meet & Greets, is for folks to have a specific place to gather for a few days, so for those who can, they can extend their stay, or make the Meet a part of a longer tour.

Jocke, rather summed up the reason we all like the Meet & Greets, when he was talking to me in Clitheroe. There is no "officialdom", no red tape, just turn up and enjoy the few days for what they gives you. No inscription, no demands that anyone camps or stays in an hotel, no demand that you even ride a Goldwing. There is no sign of elitism, no cliquey little groups, everyone is equal. I am sure that these things are recognised by everyone attending, even those who are there for the first time and I would like to think that no one feels out of place, or made to feel unwelcome.

Unfortunately, wherever we choose and whenever it is, it isn't going to suit everyone, and choosing the South of France as a venue, is ambitious for many and perhaps not possible for others.

I have had a word with "She Who Should be Obeyed" and in principle we have the green light for this one, but of course there are various factors that may make it impossible, hopefully none of which will stand in the way by then.

I know thing are pricier when the school holidays are on, but if that’s what it takes to enable a few more to be at the M&G then is it not worth it?

We never take my holidays in the school holidays but for this one we would do it, as Pete says these gatherings are so informal that it makes the weekend so enjoyable.
:coo:
Do we need a poll to see the opinion of most of us for the dates of it? :;b :;b

Probably early days for voting and polling Tom Tom, I think Tanygaer was first going to establish the opening months of the site that Wexy has in mind for the Meet. ( he already knows that it is good and would accommodate us I believe).

Tanygaer was skyping me last night and I made a vague suggestion of a mid week Meet & Greet, which may perhaps work if it was as he said, during a half term break school wise? With the weekend at either end, that would give those that have less time to spare, 9 days from Saturday to the following Sunday.

Good point Derek, so maybe we do need to  follow Tom Tom's suggestion and get onto working dates out a bit quicker than I was thinking.:hs

can you get a name of the camp site from Wexy, shouldn't be rocket science to find out the details from there on?

I am pretty sure that Helen and I will not be going during the proposed dates, just not doable for us then I am afraid, so we shall probably aim to go later on.

Don't mean to sound selfish but an ideal time for us up Norf to skip across to France would be straight after the British Treffen as we would be half way  to the proposed camp site...We where going to stop overnight on the way down to the Treffen so it would save us over a day with a numb ar$e.....
